My iPad is Running Slow

When you exit an app with the home button the iPad doesn't really close it down, instead it puts the app into a state of suspended animation so that when you re-launch a selected app it will return to the last place you left off. This is Apple's version of multitasking on iOS, however the problem with this is that there is no obvious indication as to which apps are running and which apps are not. Furthermore, keeping multiple apps in suspended animation uses up RAM (Random Access Memory).

As a result, if you start to notice your iPad running slower than usual it is possible that you have too many Apps still running in the background without realising it.

To fix this follow these steps:

1. Double click on the home button to view the apps that are currently in suspended animation

2. Touch and hold any app icon for 3 seconds until the icons begin to 'wiggle'
3. Touch the red minus sign in the corner of each app icon to make it disappear

4. Once you have cleared all of the apps you wish to close, click the home button to return to the home screen.
